Section 144 has been implemented in the national capital in the areas near the Red Fort. Under Section 144, an assembly of more than 4 people in an area is prohibited.
Incidents of violence were between police and anti-CAA protestors and rioting near areas like Seelampur has led to t the measures being taken. Protestors have also been detained in the Red Fort area.
