Former US first lady Michelle Obama visited a school in Can Giuoc, in southern Vietnam on December 9, 2019. Obama was accompanied by Hollywood star Julia Roberts and former US President George W. Bush’s daughter Jenna Bush Hager. The women interacted with girls at the school as part of a trip to promote girls’ education. They were also supporting the Girls Opportunity Alliance, an Obama Foundation initiative to advocate for female empowerment.
