Pitney Bowes lays off software division employees

Pitney Bowes, an integrated mail and document management company worth $6.1 billion dollars, has laid off 128 employees in its software division.
Pitney Bowes Software is based in Albany, New York and employees 1,600 workers.
Spokesman Matthew Broder said it’s “the first companywide action that has been taken since the acquisition” of MapInfo in April 2007.
Last year the company announced it was relocating 50 jobs to Pitney Bowes Software headquarters in the Rensselaer Technology Park. There are now 458 employees in the building.
Spokesman Broder said no further cuts are planned.
