It might be zero surprise that BTS swept four top awards – including Worldwide Icon of the Year – but with all members decked out in Hedi Slimane’s Celine menswear, which of them looked best on the red carpet?
The 2019 Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA) just took place at Japan’s Nagoya Dome on December 4, following last year’s edition being held in Hong Kong – which was, this year, passed over.
No surprises: K-pop sensations BTS swept the night, winning four daesangs (grand prizes). The band’s new release Map Of The Soul: Persona was named Album of the Year, announced by American TV host Jimmy Fallon, beating fellow A-list contenders including Blackpink, Exo, Twice and Seventeen.
The septet also took the top prizes Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (for Boy With Luv) and Worldwide Icon of the Year.
When stepping onstage to accept the grand prize, the septet was stylishly dressed in the newest Celine menswear from the French brand’s spring/summer 2020 collection, designed by Hedi Slimane.
