UK Border Force officials are at Portland after a vessel that had previously reportedly been denied permission to dock in the Channel Islands arrived at the port on England's south coast.

Video filmed on Tuesday morning (November 26) shows authorities on the scene.

UK media reported that the ferry was Nigerian-registered and that it had sat off the coast of Guernsey before leaving.

The Guernsey Press reported that the vessel had been refused permission to dock in Jersey since it did not have a handling agent. The paper also said that the vessel was refused permission to dock at Guernsey's capital Saint Peter Port due to a lack of berths.

The Guernsey Press also said that clothing and food supplied by the Red Cross and the local Co-op was ferried to the men on board.
