Femicide: France wages war on domestic violence

While police forces are often criticised in cases of domestic violence, Karine Lejeune, a gendarmerie colonel, has been engaged for more than fifteen years against this type of violence. Since 2003, she has been providing training for gendarmes on violence against women, and in 2005, she joined the Victims' Delegation and worked more particularly on violent deaths within couples.
