Romania's forests under mounting threat -- along with rangers

Illegal logging is taking a human toll in Romania. State rangers are being beaten, chased or threaten by timber thieves. Two were recently killed while facing alleged thieves. Two major protests, one by rangers and one organised by Greenpeace, have taken place to call upon the government to step up its measures to protect forests and their guardians.
