Yogi Adityanath government in uttar pradesh is planning to change Agra's name to Agravan. The government has sought expert advice from the Ambedkar University in this regard. The Ambedkar University in Agra has been asked to look into the historical aspect of the name. The history department of the university is now looking at the proposal. Earlier the UP government had changed the name of Allahabad to Prayagraj, faizabad to ayodhya and the historic Mughal Sarai railway station was renamed after Deendayal Upadhyay.

इलाहाबाद और फैजाबाद के बाद यूपी की योगी सरकार अब ताजनगरी आगरा का नाम भी बदलने की तैयारी में है। बताया जा रहा है कि आगरा का नाम अब अग्रवन हो सकता है। इसके लिए सरकार ने अंबेडकर यूनिवर्सिटी के इतिहास विभाग से नामों से संबंधित सुझाव और साक्ष्य भेजने को कहा है। इससे पहले योगी सरकार इलाहाबाद का नाम बदलकर प्रयागराज और फ़ैजाबाद का नाम बदलकर अयोध्या कर चुकी है। इसके अलावा मुगलसराय स्टेशन का नाम पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय जंक्शन भी किया गया है।
