South Korea and Japan held working-level diplomatic talks today in Tokyo,... and discussed their military intelligence-sharing pact as well as the issue of Japan's wartime forced labor.
The director-general for Asian and Pacific affairs at Seoul's foreign ministry Kim Jung-han, and his Japanese counterpart, Shigeki Takizaki met for the first time in a month.
The two talked for more than two hours, and reconfirmed each other's stances, but agreed that talks must go on to resolve tensions between their nations.
Kim reportedly urged Japan to withdraw its export controls, and Japan urged Korea to wisely respond regarding Seoul's decision to terminate GSOMIA which expires next week.
