A baby boy was found abandoned in a popular park in north Pakistan, prompting his rescuer to launch a plea on social media to find his parents.

The baby was discovered in Ayub National Park in Rawalpindi on the morning of November 6, when a man driving by a wooded area of the park spotted the baby's bright carrier harness.

The boy was taken to the authorities to be cared for.

Video of the discovery was then posted online by the rescuer with an audio request for information to help find the parents of the child.

The parents of the boy are still unknown, as is the cause for the child's abandonment.
