A full-fledged fistfight broke out between the in-laws of a bride and groom at a wedding in south India on October 28.

The wedding took place in Kodad near Suryapet, Telangana, when the fight broke out over the music arrangements, with young men joined by their mothers and other relatives all joining the brawl.

The bride, from a village in Prakasam district, was getting married to the groom from Kodad. The bride’s family was preparing to take the newly married couple to their home after a ceremonial procession.

A few relatives of the groom had arranged for music for the procession and even hired a DJ. But the bride’s party were not keen on music as they were keen to wrap up the ceremony and head back to their village over 250km away.

When a heated argument broke out, it soon escalated into a free-for-all fight. Elderly relatives stepped in to stop the fight and allowed the bride to take her man to her village.

Police are investigating the incident.
