After several months of nailbiting action and hundreds of games,... South Korea's baseball season is now in its final stretch.
The Doosan Bears and Kiwoom Heroes clashed for the second time on Wednesday evening in the Korean Series, which decides the season's champions.
However, with two wins out of two for Doosan, this best-of-seven series could be over almost as quickly as it began.
Our Eum Ji-young reports from Jamsil Baseball Stadium in southeastern Seoul.
It's the first time in KBO history that two Seoul-based teams are competing for the championship title.
Despite the chilly late autumn breeze, the atmosphere was charged at the Jamsil baseball stadium on Wednesday night as fans of the Heroes and Bears cheered on their respective teams.
"The 25-thousand seat Jamsil baseball stadium was completely sold out for the Korean series game 2 between the Doosan bears and the Kiwoom heroes."
Even two hours prior to the the game, hundreds of fans clad in their teams' kit were filing into the stadium.
"I always cheer for the Doosan Bears.
This year our team made a miracle in countries, we’ll make a miracle one more time in this year. Yeah. Go Bears "
"I stayed up all night because of work, but I came with my friend to support the Kiwoom Heroes. I believe Kiwoom will win game 2 even though it lost game 1. Go Kiwoom Heroes "
However, in the end, the Bears defeated the Heroes 6-to-5 to take a 2-0 lead in the Korean Series.
The Bears scored 3 runs at the bottom of the ninth inning to complete a heroic comeback with Park Kun-woo delivering the game-winning single against Han Hyun-hee.
The previous night, the Bears edged out the Heroes 7 to 6 in Game 1 at Jamsil Stadium.
The Korean Series now moves to the Heroes' home, the Gocheok Sky Dome, for Game 3 on Thursday.
