Description of Diego Fried's Argentine/Brazilian movie The Silent Party (La fiesta silenciosa) from the Mar del Plata International Film Festival (Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata): "The day before their wedding party, a couple (played by Jazmín Stuart and Esteban Bigliardi) arrive at a country mansion belonging to the bride's father (Gerardo Romano) to put the final touches to their wedding plans. It may be pre-wedding jitters, uncertainty about the future or something more serious but the bride seems a little nervous. In the middle of the night, she decides to visit the house across the street, where a group of teenagers are having their own party. What happens there transforms the young woman's life, her family's plans and the whole film itself. The tension and violence escalate as the film plays with different formats, flitting easily between genres in an unpredictable way. Shifting from weirdness into absolute nightmare but rightly avoiding parody, the film's raw sense of humor is redolent with a welcome bitterness."
