Description of Luciana Garraza and Eric Fleitas' Scavenger (Carroña) from the Mar del Plata International Film Festival (Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata): "In a post-apocalyptic future in which even the sky seems to have turned to rust, a woman named Tisha [Nayla Churruarin] disregards the face of fear each time she knifes a human being to rob his organs. The inhabitants have their skin covered in sweat from the snarling of the sun that follows the characters of this gut-busting science fiction tale. With a brownish, opaque palette over a landscape that is starved for life, the only color that stands out is red, present in the blood that runs down the car driven by Tisha, as if she were Mel Gibson crossing the desert in MAD MAX. As the film's title suggests, this gore fest manages to realize, through an ensemble of disturbing images, the nauseating odor of carrion. The camera makes us feel that we are flying over the decomposed flesh as if we were vultures ready to attack a cadaver."
