Young People Prioritize
Their Mental Health in
the Workplace, Study Finds A study published in the
Harvard Business Review recently
took a look at the role of mental
health in the workplace. Out of 1,500 adults in the United States, a total
of 20 percent reported voluntarily leaving their
job in order to prioritize mental health. When broken down by generation,
that’s 50 percent of the polled millennials
and 75 percent of the Gen Zers. In comparison, less than 10 percent
of baby boomers reported the same. The study also found that 86 percent of employees
want their company to prioritize mental health. According to the authors of the report, this “shift
in generational awareness” signals the efforts by
younger generations to de-stigmatize mental health.
