Bernie Sanders Suffered a Heart Attack, Campaign Says.
The 2020 presidential candidate was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital earlier in the week due to chest pain.
At the time, the 78-year-old's campaign said he had
"artery blockage.".
The Vermont senator's doctors
say that he suffered a
"myocardial infarction.".
This is a medical term
for a heart attack. .
The Senator was stable upon arrival and taken immediately to the cardiac catheterization laboratory, at which time two stents were placed in a blocked coronary artery in a timely fashion. All other arteries
were normal, Bernie Sanders' doctors, via statement.
Sanders has been
released from Desert Springs
Hospital Medical Center.
While leaving, he told the press that
he is feeling great and ready to get
back on the campaign trail.
After two and a half days in the hospital, I feel great, and after taking a short time off, I look forward to getting back to work, Bernie Sanders, via statement.
Doctors add that the senator has made good progress since undergoing surgery.
On October 15, Sanders is expected to participate in the next scheduled presidential debate
