A brave base jumper launches himself into a cloudy abyss from a 150-metre high radio tower in Switzerland.

The man, who goes by BASEWEEKLY on YouTube, records himself scaling the radio tower with a GoPro attached to his helmet before climbing onto the roof of the building where he becomes surrounded by thick fog.

The base jumper then cries out "send it" before launching himself into the cloudy abyss where he then lands in a nearby cornfield.

He told Newsflare: "I was road tripping around Europe and found this awesome decommission AM radio antenna.

"I knew it would be foggy at the top but was confident I would have visibility for landing. It was pretty cold and my hands were freezing, I was wishing I had my gloves but could find them in the messy car before I started.

"I geared up in the room at the 150-metre mark and decided to run off the roof rather than climbing the extra 60 metres to the top.

"Falling through the fog, everything was white and I couldn’t see the ground so I counted in my head and pulled the parachute with plenty of time to set up the landing.

"There was a headwind when I came into land which nearly put me in the cornfield but I just made it."

This footage was filmed on August 27.
