Children have been forced to wear protective face masks in Padang, West Sumatra today (September 19) after authorities declared air quality unhealthy.

Footage shows one kindergarten student applying and wearing a mask on her commute to school.

As even visibility becomes limited locals hope that forest fires in Riau, Jambi and a number of points in West Sumatra will be extinguished quickly and air quality will improve.
