Fire task force in Indonesia extinguishes burning peatlands to combat haze crisis

A task force charged with battling the wildfires in Indonesia causing the country's "haze crisis" has been working to extinguish burning peatlands in rural Sumatra.

The Forest and Land Fire Task Force was deployed near Rimbo Panjang village, Kampar district, Riau, yesterday (September 17).

The Indonesian government is continuing to fight the fires in order to reduce the impact of the haze blanketing Riau Province for the last two months.
