There is no evidence of the boat that was capsized on Sunday in Godavari river in AP. NDRF and SDRF officials said that the boat might have gone 315 meters deep into the river. They also expressed that there is no hope that the remaining people would have survived.

గోదావరిలో వరద కారణంగా నెల రోజులుగా పాపికొండలకు బోటు ప్రయాణాన్ని నిలిపివేశారు. ప్రస్తుతం గోదావరి వరద కొద్దిగా నెమ్మదించింది. ఆదివారం కావడంతో పాపికొండలు చూడటం కోసం పర్యాటకులు గండిపోశమ్మ గుడి వద్దకు వచ్చారు. రాయల్ వశిష్ట అనే రెండు అంతస్తుల ప్రైవేట్‌ బోటులో వివిధ ప్రాంతాలకు చెందిన 63 మంది పర్యాటకులు, 8 మంది సిబ్బందితో కలిసి మొత్తం 71 మంది ఆదివారం ఉదయం 9.30 గంటలకు ఆక్కడి నుంచి బయలుదేరారు.
