Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei... says no negotiations will take place between Iran and the U.S. officials "at any level."
According to Iranian state TV on Tuesday,... Khamenei said Washington's 'maximum pressure' policy against Tehran is worthless and that all officials of the Islamic Republic share his view.
But the Supreme Leader added that if Washington changes its behavior and returns to the 2015 nuclear deal,... the U.S. then could join multilateral discussions.
There's been speculation that President Trump might meet his Iranian counterpart President Hassan Rouhani during the upcoming U.N. General Assembly in New York, but Trump's giving no indication that'll happen.
"Well, I have no meeting scheduled. I know they want to meet. I know they're not doing well as a country. Iran has got a lot of problems right now."
Tensions have risen since last weekend's drone strikes on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities.
Iran says the attacks were launched from Yemen, but the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have blamed the attacks on Iran.
"Initial investigation indicates that the weapons used in the attack are Iranian.... The drones did not, like what the Houthis claimed, take off from Yemen. The Houthis is merely a tool in the hands of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, it is what they use to realize their goal and agenda in the region."
Last Saturday's drone strikes resulted in a temporary shutdown of the oil plants,... causing a spike in global oil prices.
