BEIJING — A former model shot to stardom after joining the ranks of the Chinese army.

Award-winning underwear model Men Jiahui from northeastern China's Lianing Province signed up as a guard of honor five years ago.

People first expressed their surprise when she appeared in China's Victory Day parade in Tiananmen Square back in 2015.

Despite matching uniforms, the 5 foot 10, 27-year-old stood out amongst the rest and has since been dubbed by netizens as the "most beautiful soldier in China."

MSN reported that she became a trending topic once again after Beijing announced it would hold the largest military parade on October 1st to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the nation.

A video shared by the state-run newspaper, People's Daily, shows Ms. Men perform a 12-second catwalk display in front of her PLA comrades.

The clip has received more than 3.5 million views and 66,000 comments.

In an interview with QQ.com, she said that she dreamt of being a soldier since she was a child - she made her career swap in 2014.

Speaking to China Central Television Station, Ms. Men said the two careers had something in common, saying that, "both jobs are to present yourself in front of other people."
