Employees gathered to bid farewell to Alibaba's chairman Jack Ma when he visited his old workmates on his last day before retiring.

The video, filmed in Hangzhou city in eastern China's Zhejiang province on September 9, shows crowds at Alibaba, Binjiangyuan District gathering and cheering Ma.

They can be seen using their phones to take pictures of Ma and also managing to get a photo with him as he walked past.

Jack Ma stepped down as Alibaba's chairman on his 55-year-old birthday.
