Kroger Issues Open Carry
Ban on Guns.
The move comes amid a recent rise
in mass shootings within the U.S.
It also expands on Kroger's 2018 ban on
selling guns in its stores.
Kroger has demonstrated with our actions that we recognize the growing chorus of Americans who are no longer comfortable with the status quo and who are advocating for concrete and common sense gun reforms, Kroger, via statement.
The chain adds that only
authorized police are
exempted from the gun ban.
Kroger's new rule is even in effect
in states where it is legal to
openly carry firearms.
The retailer is not the only
one making changes after
the mass shootings
in Texas and Ohio.
Walmart has also said it will stop selling certain ammunition
and guns in its stores.
Both companies have called
on the U.S. government to
pass gun reform laws
