Dillashaw stuns Barao to bag bantamweight title

MANILA, Philippines – American TJ Dillashaw stunned the mixed martial arts world by beating Renan Barao in their bantamweight title fight at UFC 173. Dillashaw started early, dropping Barao to the canvas in round one with a huge right, marking one of the very few times that Barao has been floored in his career. The American continued to dominate the scorecards to put Barao’s 32-fight winning streak in trouble. Dillashaw’s virtuoso performance continued in the fifth, when he scored a head kick that clearly rocked the Brazilian.
