USFK respects Seoul's decision to seek early return of base ownership

The U.S. Forces Korea responded to Seoul's decision to take back ownership of American military bases here in the nation.
In a statement released Tuesday... the USFK said it remains committed to cooperating with the South Korean government... to return the installations to the South Korean public and local communities as quickly as possible.
Among the 80 American bases... 54 of them have already been returned.
Discussion on returning 19 of the 26 remaining bases are on-going... while talks on returning seven bases have been stalled.
