Clinton hopeful for Pacquiao's political future

Former United States President Bill Clinton had nothing but good words to say about Filipino ring icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Pacquiao and Clinton met backstage before the taping of the show, and the former president later told Kimmel that he hopes to see the "Pacman" go further in his political career. "You know, you have Manny here, and he is already in the Philippine parliament," said Clinton. "I am hoping that he goes right up on the ladder." "He's a great guy and he's a great role model in his country. He’s very strong and honest," he added. Sarangani Representative Pacquiao also made his eighth appearance on the show to promote his April 12 rematch against unbeaten American Timothy Bradley Jr., but was asked by Kimmel about his political future. "Right now, I’m focused on my position as congressman," Pacquiao answered when asked about his plans for the future as a politician. -- With a report from ANC
