Blast hits Manila police precinct; 3 hurt

MANILA – Three people were injured after an explosive was hurled in front of a police community precinct in Tondo, Manila before dawn on Thursday. An unidentified suspect hurled the explosive, believed to be a grenade, in front of Police Community Precinct 1 along Road 10 in Vitas, Tondo at around 3 a.m. Three people were wounded and six vehicles, including a police vehicle, were damaged in the explosion. One of the injured victims was identified as Noel Gallaron. Police investigators are looking into revenge by criminals as one of the reasons behind the blast. They noted that a police operation in the area on Wednesday resulted in the death of a certain "Badjao," an alleged member of a criminal group. – report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
