Porsche-driving Customs messenger indicted

Do you remember the Porsche-driving Customs messenger who got involved in a shooting incident along SLEX in 2012? The Office of the Ombudsman has found former Customs employee Paulino C. Elevado IV guilty of serious dishonesty, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service and violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. The Ombudsman also found probably cause to indict him for 5 counts of falsification of public documents and two counts of violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act for submitting inaccurate SALNs. Since Elevado has already resigned from the Bureau of Customs, the Ombudsman imposed a fine of P20,000 and ordered the forfeiture of all his retirement benefits. ANC News Now, March 12, 2014
