Gov. Vi to retire from politics?

MANILA - Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos has no plan to run for higher office in 2016, her husband, Sen. Ralph Recto, said Monday. This is amid reports that Santos is being eyed as a possible running-mate of Vice-President Jejomar Binay when he seeks the presidency in 2016. "Puro tsismis lang ang sinasabi niyo sa amin. Walang plano," the senator told reporters. Recto said Santos and Binay recently talked about housing concerns in Batangas province and not politics. He also said Santos may retire from politics once she finishes her term in 2016. He said his wife is interested in making movies again. Recto also joked that Santos might run for president of a senior citizens' group. RADIO DZMM, March 3, 2014
