Meryl Davis and Charlie White of the United States beat their Canadian rivals to win the gold in the Olympic ice dancing competition. It was a much anticipated showdown between the Americans and Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. Davis and White’s 17-year-partnership on the ice has proven to be golden, as they showed off complex fast-paced footwork, innovative lifts and synchronized spins. After the free dance competition, Davis and White finished with 195.52 points, about 4.5 points ahead of the Canadians. -- Mornings @ ANC, February 19, 2014.
