La Salle beats NU for automatic Finals berth

MANILA, Philippines – Four-peat seeking De La Salle bucked a first-set meltdown to defeat the National University and gain an outright Finals berth in the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament. The Lady Spikers, who also earned a thrice-to-beat advantage, surrendered the first set 14-25 before claiming the last three sets. Ara Galang unloaded 15 points and inspirational captain Abi Marano added 14 as they led La Salle in taking advantage of NU’s errors. With the win, the Lady Spikers have now won 30 straight games dating back to the 2012 season. Meanwhile, the UST Tigresses bowed out of the volleyball season with their heads up after beating the Adamson Lady Falcons in four sets.
