Dentistirador: Man robs dentist, then tries extortion

MANILA – Police arrested Tuesday a man linked to the robbery and extortion attempt against a female dentist. Suspect Ernesto Perez, 34, allegedly tied up and robbed the dentist after having his teeth cleaned. The dentist's ordeal, however, did not end after Perez left her clinic. She said the suspect later sent her a text message asking for P50,000 in exchange for not hurting her and her family. The victim sought the help of the police, resulting in the arrest of the suspect in an entrapment operation. Perez denied the extortion allegation, even as the police recovered the marked money from him. – report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
