MANILA – Punches and slaps were thrown by supporters from opposing camps in Barangay Valencia, Quezon on election day. Tension was high in the barangay as the voting was being done inside the barangay hall. The village had no choice but to conduct the polls inside the barangay hall because the Valencia Elementary School was recently demolished. In the middle of the packed hall, two supporters from opposing sides lost their cool and slapped each other. One of the candidates is an 18-year-old daughter of the third-termer chairman. - Radio dzMM, 28 October 2013
