AFP honors fallen soldier, cops in Zamboanga

MANILA -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Wednesday honored its fallen comrades in Zamboanga City. A send-off ceremony was conducted by the military for Army Lt. Francis Damian, PO2 Lawin Falisa and PO2 Enrique Afable III at the Edwin Andrews Airbase. The three were killed by Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fighters loyal to Nur Misuari while they were conducting clearing operations in Barangay Sta. Barbara. Present in the ceremony were Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, AFP chief of staff Gen. Emmanuel Bautista, and Damian's widow, Lt. JG Amy Campos.
