Ex-SolGen Chavez dies at 66

MANILA - Former Solicitor General Frank Chavez has passed away. He was 66. Chavez was rushed to The Medical City Wednesday night after suffering a stroke. He was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m. The stroke was caused by complications from lymphoma. A well-known lawyer and human rights activist, Chavez served as the solicitor general under President Corazon Aquino. His body was cremated at around 2:45 a.m. His remains will be transferred to San Antonio Church in Forbes Park in Makati, while the burial is set on September 15 at The Heritage Park in Taguig. - ANC Headstart, 12 September 2013
