Media groups call for urgent passage of FOI bill

MANILA - Members of the media are calling for the immediate passage of the freedom of information (FOI) bill. Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) Chair Malou Mangahas said the bill will not only benefit the media but all citizens. Representatives of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) and the National Press Club (NPC) also attended the Senate hearing on Wednesday. The NPC said the bill should be more specific when pertaining to which information should be released to the public.
