Please embed video -- ANC 12:01pm MANILA -- The province of Quirino has been placed under a state of calamity due to the effects of typhoon "Labuyo." The provincial government can now utilize the 5 percent calamity funds for the province's immediate rehabilitation and assistance to the victims of the typhoon. Initial report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) showed that agricultural damage has now reached over P200 million. Among those affected were thousands of hectares of rice fields, corn and banana plantations. Infrastructure damage, meanwhile, was estimated at over P22 million. Power outage caused by falling electric posts is also being experienced in some areas of the province.
