Rigondeaux ends Donaire's 12-year win streak

MANILA, Philippines – Cuba’s Guillermo Rigondeaux has ended Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire’s sensational 12-year, 30-fight winning streak. The little-known Rigondeaux, a former two-time Olympic gold medalist, out-boxed Donaire over 12 rounds to win via unanimous decision and unify the WBO and WBA super bantamweight title belts. Following his disappointing loss, Donaire cannot yet return to the Philippines, as the boxer has been advised by his doctor to rest after sustaining an injury to his right eye. -- Mornings @ ANC, April 15, 2013
