More than 100 flights have been cancelled at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday,... as protesters continue to occupy one of the world's busiest hubs for the fourth straight day.
In a statement Monday afternoon,... airport authorities said they were cancelling all flights,... with the exception of departure flights that have completed check-in procedures.
The authorities said airport operations have been seriously disrupted as a result of the rallies... and advised the public to avoid using the airport.
Police say more than five thousand protesters gathered at the airport on Monday.
This comes after a weekend of violent confrontations between police and demonstrators across the city.
The protests have been ongoing for over two months,... sparked by opposition to a controversial extradition bill.
