Taheya Carioca Dances Tahtil Shibbak 1946

Tahtil Shibbak's music was composed by the oud playing guy in this Taheya Carioca clip. Who was he? His name was Aziz Osman and he not only composed the music for Tahtil Shibbak but he sang it in this film too. He can be seen in this clip playing the oud. The film is La3bet el Set from 1946. The lyrics for Tahtil Shibbak however, were written by Bade3 Khairy. These were multi-talented artists. Aziz Osman was a gifted composer and comedian. And Bade3 Khairy was a gifted lyricist and theater actor, and scriptwriter as well. Another bit of trivia about this movie is that the part of Taheya Carioca's husband in the film is played by Nagib El Rehani, who was Badia Masabni's real life husband. Their marriage was very troubled and it ended in a bitter separation. It was after the split that Badia opened her famous Sala on Emad el Din street and she became quite successful on her own. Nagib el Rehani and lyrics writer Bade3 Khairy were very close friends.
