A member of staff at Jiujiang railway station found several snakes hatched in a package when he was arranging the checked baggage in the luggage room.

The shocking video, shot in Jiujiang city in southeastern China's Jiangxi province on July 29, shows a member of staff sweeping the live king cobras into a dustpan.

After the police arrived, they cordoned off the scene and checked the package to clear all the king cobras out.

According to reports, a commuter named Qi bought around 510 snake eggs online to make alcohol and the business owner delivered them to Qi via train.

However, the eggs hatched during transportation due to the high temperatures.

25 king cobras were hatched and 11 of them were alive, reports said. Luckily, no one was injured and the case is in further investigation.
