A clip from the 1935 Egyptian film Dr. Farahat. In this scene Nouna and Taheya (played by Amina Mohamed and Taheya Carioca respectively) are having lunch with their father's guest Dr. Helmi, who is really an impostor named Farahat. He is pretending to be Dr. Helmi along with his simple minded friend who pretends to be Dr. Helmi's assistant. The real doctor has hired them both to masquerade as the doctor and his assitant. Nouna's father is interested in Dr. Helmi as a possible husband for his daughter but she is horrified by the idea because she feels he is far too old and dorky. So she and her best friend Taheya decide to antagonize both lunch guests and try to make them lose any possible interest in marriage. As they are having lunch, Farahat's wife arrives. She has been searching for him everywhere and has been given directions to the house where he is having lunch and pretending to be Dr. Helmi. When Farahat sees her, he tells his hosts that she is one of his mental patients who is quite crazy and who says crazy things. Then he gives her some money and sends her off, lest she reveal his true identity. After lunch Taheya asks her uncle to be excused because she and Nouna are going to go for a walk with their two guests. Their plan is to make them walk around so much and wear them out so that the elderly "doctor" will become disillusioned with the idea of marrying Nouna. In the end, Farahat and his friend are indeed so tired that they go to bed with their clothes on. Dr. Farahat was Taheya Carioca's first film. She was still a teen at the time, and was not yet known as Taheya Carioca. She is billed in the credits of this film as Taheya Mohamed. The other actress Amina Mohamed was also a famous dancer and in one of her numbers she performed with a snake at Badia Masabni's nightclub.
