Ipchu but temperatures in S. Korea to rise_080819

Good morning. Today is Ipchu, the beginning of autumn on East Asian calendars but the heat is likely to intensify. Seoul got brief relief from the heat yesterday but it's going to be another hot one today. Most southern parts of the country and Jeju are under heat wave advisories, Gwangju is under a heat wave warning.
Many had a difficult time falling asleep last night, lots of regions saw tropical nights as overnight lows remained above 25 degrees Celsius. High humidity lingers and inland regions could see heavy passing showers during the day.
Sporadic heavy rain could fall at times. Highs in Seoul will be 33 degrees Celsius. Daegu a steamy 35 degrees.
Sunday is Malbok which officially marks the last day of hottest period of summer and we can expect temperatures to ease tomorrow and tropical nights should come to an end next week.
