Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said today that his officers have intensified the crackdown on drugs, as the levels of substance abuse have reached "breaking point."
Hamid stressed that in the past two months, the Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department has redoubled efforts to crack down on drugs, gambling and vice, and has conducted a lot of successful raids.
These raids have even resulted in police officers being hauled up.
"We have arrested no less than 30 of our own men high on methamphetamine every week since January. That's a frightening figure.
"My own men high on meth," he lamented.
