Have you ever made a dessert with a cardboard roll, tape, and parchment paper? No? Well, there's a first time for everything! Sometimes it's fun to serve up a recipe with a side of arts and crafts, and that's exactly what you'll get with this fruity chocolate dessert that will be ready in just a few simple steps.
You'll Need:
For the chocolate cream:
- 10 cookies
- 7 oz coconut oil
- 3 tbsp vanilla pudding mix
- 1½ tbsp cocoa powder
- 5 oz sugar
- 4 fl oz water
- 3½ oz dark chocolate
For the banana cream filling:
- 2 bananas
- 2 oz sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2½ fl oz milk
- 9 oz cream cheese
Extra:
- parchment paper
- cardboard roll
- tape
- 10 fl oz chocolate glaze
Here's How:
1. Cut a long strip of parchment paper that is about 5-6 inches high.
2. Roll the parchment paper around a cardboard roll that is also about 5-6 inches tall.
3. Fix the end of the rolled-up paper tube in place with tape and remove the cardboard roll.
4. Place the paper tube on a cookie.
5. Mix the coconut oil until frothy.
6. Mix the pudding powder, cocoa powder, and sugar in a pan over a medium heat and stir in the water. Add the chocolate and stir everything until smooth and melted. Finally, stir in the whipped coconut oil and fill a piping bag with the mixture.
7. Spray the chocolate cream in a spiral around the paper tube in an upwards motion and then freeze fro 30 minutes.
Tip: Coat the cookie with melted chocolate or some kind of frosting before you add the chocolate cream to help keep it in place.
8. Blend the sliced banana, sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Add the cream cheese and mix everything until smooth.
9. Remove the chocolate towers from the freezer and carefully pull out the paper tubes.
10. Pour the banana cream filling in a pastry bag and fill the inside of the chocolate tower.
11. Seal the towers with chocolate cream and freeze for another 20 minutes.
12. Make as many towers as you want, dip them headfirst into the chocolate glaze, and let them drain and harden before you stand them upright to serve.
