Typhoon Danas to give an impact on Korea's southeastern regions 071919

Good afternoon. Southern coastal regions and Jeju are receiving heavy showers due to a monsoonal front but brace for downpours as Tropical Storm Danas is approaching.

Danas will move in a north-northeasterly direction across the East China Sea and into the East Sea. Jeju and the southeastern coastal cities are expected to feel the direct effects for the next couple of days.

Southeastern regions and Jeju will be drenched with nearly 500 to 700 millimeters of rain or even more through early Sunday morning.

Heavy rain alerts are in place in southern coastal regions and for Jeju. A typhoon warning has been issued in waters off Jeju couple of hours ago, the weather agency will issue a typhoon advisory in a few hours for land and sea across thePeninsula.

Today's highs will be slightly higher, temperatures will near 35 degrees for upper regions with Seoul and nearby areas under a heat wave advisory.
