Sustainability Activist Calls for More Action on Climate Change
  • 5 years ago
Sustainability Activist Gary Aboud joined us from Trinidad and Tobago to discuss World Environment Day. He expressed concern about climate change which is negatively affecting the caribbean. He said there has been an increase in Trinidad and Tobago's carbon footprint, a major cause for concern. Aboud also said there was an average of one oil spill per week in the caribbean island and further noted that countries in the region should look into ways of reducing its use of plastics. Meanwhile, the sustainability activist said Trinidad and Tobago is not ready for a major hurricane and that the caribbean needs to be more innovative in dealing with the massive sargassum seaweed invasion, by taking it from problem to profit.
