World War Two Days - Rockford IL 08 - Town Battle

From World War Two Days in Rockford Illinois September 2008. The town battle that took place at the end of the day on Saturday. Background information about the event from the Rockford Star - The Midway Village Museum, 6799 Guilford Road, will host World War II Days this weekend. The weekend features more than 700 re-enactors with tanks and other vintage military equipment. There will be two battles Saturday, one battle Sunday, and numerous skirmishes in the village throughout the weekend. The public is invited to visit campsites in the woods and see displays in the village buildings. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Food and souvenirs will be available for purchase.
