Organisers of an annual candlelight vigil at Hong Kong’s Victoria Park say a record crowd of more than 180,000 gathered to mark the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown in Beijing. Police say the turnout was about 37,000. This year’s turnout exceeds 2012 and 2014 peaks, after which turnout the following years continually fell with student organisations boycotting the candlelight vigil.
